There’s a certain image that goes with riding a motorcycle. A certain toughness, a machismo. Even the ladies that straddle the two wheeled steel monsters have a sort of badass aspect to them, albeit in a totally sexy way. Let’s face it, there are some people you just don’t picture on a Harley, or even a crotch rocket. Oh, well, I guess if they can afford the bike and the motorcycle insurance, who’s to say they shouldn’t? Here are some celebrities we came across who made us scratch our heads when we found out they ride motorcycles:
- Justin Timberlake. Let’s face it, the street creds of a guy who was a Mouseketeer and a founding member of ‘N Synch just does not scream “tough biker.” The guy shouldn’t even be allowed to wear leather.
- George Clooney. OK, this one isn’t so bad. If a guy can pull off Batman, he’s probably all right to ride a motorcycle. Still, we didn’t picture him on a motorcycle. Maybe he should become a spokesman for a motorcycle insurance company.
- Bruce Jenner. Maybe he should have worn a motorcycle helmet on the cover of the Wheaties box. We knew the guy liked speed, but it’s hard to picture him without all of that ‘70s style hair blowing in the wind behind him. Maybe if he rode without a helmet, it would help us picture it.
- Pink. Dance and techno music does NOT say tough, even for a chic. The moniker pink is forgivable for a girl, but let’s face it, her music appeals more to people who drive a Toyota Prius than those who ride motorcycles.
- Adam Levine. He’s the singer for Maroon 5, if you didn’t know (and chances are if you like motorcycles, you didn’t). There’s a photo of him floating around with a few of his friends trying to look like a biker gang. Not bad for comic relief.
- Orlando Bloom. Let’s face it, skinny little elves (who hang out with hobbits, no less) and motorcycles just don’t go together. Ever. I don’t care how much your local Dungeons and Dragons fans try to tell you otherwise. It just doesn’t look right.
Don’t get us wrong, when it comes to riding motorcycles, the more the merrier. And motorcycle enthusiasts can use any good press we can get. But when it comes right down to it, some things just don’t look right.
